John Driver18 Webb(Samuel17,John16,Isaac15,Giles14,John13,Giles12,Richard11,William Micajah10 ,Alexander Jr.9, Alexander8, Henry Alexander7, John Alexander6, John5, William4, John3, Geofrey2, Henry1), was born 1790 in South Carolina and died February 28, 1852.  He married Charlotte Covington February 3, 1811 in Washington County, Georgia, daughter of John Covington and Sarah Porter.  She was born 1794 in Washington County, GA., and died 1871.

Legatees:

Wife: Charlotte, 150 A., 2 slaves, buildings, livestock, produce, household and kitchen furnishings, farming tools, etc., (a long list of all above named) for life.

Sons: Crawford Webb, a slave in addition to what already given him, $75.00; John C.(Covington) Webb, 200 A. S. side of Buckeye Creek, $25.00, 2 slaves, furniture; Joseph Driver Webb home place and land with all buildings after death of Charlotte, 1 slave and $35.00.

Daus: Sarah Webb, 160 A. land on headwaters of Fort Creek, 2 slaves, furniture, side saddle, trunk and Bible; Elizabeth Webb 200 A. land adj. John's, 1 slave, furniture, side saddle, $80.00 and trunk; Martha Webb, 94 A. land adj. Elizabeth's with all the land near the fork, 1 slave and $20.00 to replace bed, saddle and $225.00.

Grandch.: Sarah Jane and Morgann Hambleton, Ch. of Dau. Mary Hambleton, deceased, 250 A. E. side of Ohopee River, 2 slaves, $25.00 furniture, saddle and Bible, if they live to be grown.  Otherwise property reverts to estate to be equally divided among children.

Martha and Malinda were taught to read and write "tolerable well," Joseph Driver Webb(son) to read, write and "cypher" well.  His books were to be equally divided among them.

All property not willed was to be sold.  After money reserved for educating these three children, balance was to be equally divided among his heirs.

If any die without issue, property was to be returned to estate to be equally divided.

He was a Methodist minister, he was in Pickens Brigade in the Revolution, he preached at Bethel Church about nine (9) miles NW of Wrightsville, GA., he appears in the List of Captain Edmond Hopson's Company, 1st Class Militia from 13 Reg. Washington County 1814.
